PLANTS

We are as passionate about our plants as the natural materials we produce from them. Our affinity to nature and the biodiversity of Australian flora and fauna has led us to establish a dedicated plant propagation nursery capable of propagating most Australian native plants endemic to the South East Coast of Australia.

Our Varieties

TEATREE1.jpg

A fine leaved Australian native tree or shrub prized for its fragrant lemon scented aroma. Being endemic to the east coast of Australia it prefers full sun and a reasonably well draining soil. Once established this variety is drought hardy and can tolerate light frosts. Plant in the ground approximately 60 to 90cm apart and tip prune regularly for a beautiful natural hedge or screen. Our favourite thing to do with this plant is to pick, crush and inhale the aroma of the leaf tips every few days to refresh the senses and provide a free natural hand sanitiser.

Blue Malee.jpg

A medium sized eucalyptus tree that is renowned for its extremely high medicinal grade eucalyptus oil properties owing to its chemical composition of almost entirely 1-8 cineole (eucalyptol). Being a mallee variety it will develop multiple stems or trunks from its underground lignotuber. As the tree grows naturally around West Wyalong in New South Wales and the Bendigo district of Victoria it is considered extremely drought tolerant and prefers full sun locations.. Its leaves are long and lance shaped which provides a subtle yet contrasting feature when planted with other eucalyptus varieties as well as other Australian natives such as tea trees and paperbarks.

Blue Peppermint.jpg

A medium to large sized eucalyptus tree that grows to a height of 20m. The botanical name ‘dives’ is a latin word meaning rich in reference to the rich oil content of the leaves. However, the common name refers to the aroma of the essential oil which has a gentle peppermint tone owing to its majority pipertone chemical composition. The tree grows naturally in South Eastern Australian in open forests, usually in poor, shallow soils making it drought tolerant once established. The juvenile and regrowth leaves are relatively large and rounded which makes for a striking feature in any mixed native garden and a contrasting form in any native flower arrangement.
