Our oils are 100% pure and are produced with a strong focus on environmental sustainability. Growing our own plants for oil production is not only rewarding it helps us minimise our carbon footprint and gives us full control over the quality of our products.

Having the choice to select and harvest only the best plant material allows us to supply you a product that is of the highest quality possible and most importantly true to the aroma of each plant variety.

Our Process

Plants

The selection and growing of our own plants is an exciting challenge that starts years before any plants go into the ground. That is, the plants we ultimately harvest are a result of years of continual improvement of our seedstock, propagation and planting methods in order to produce plants that have superior structure and form, superior drought resistance and above all else superior natural qualities.

Harvesting

After each plant variety is assessed and sampled, it is scheduled for harvest. We harvest all our plants by hand to maximise the quality of the oil. Although this process is hard work, it gives us an immediate indication of the aroma across the plantation, and also allows us to assess the health of each and every plant, paying particular attention to plant shape, leaf growth, and overall plant condition.

Oil Extraction

Soon after harvesting the plant leaf material is transferred to our onsite oil extraction facility, where we use purpose built stainless steel steam distillation units to gently and gradually extract oil to industry best practice standards. Finding the optimum levels of oil clarity, desired aroma and yield is something we have perfected over many years and provides the necessary feedback to continually improve our harvesting and extraction methods.

Quality Control and Packaging

Each and every batch of oil produced is sampled and sent to an external laboratory for analysis in order to determine the chemical composition of each batch. All oil must meet Australian and industry standards for each respective plant variety before it can be packaged for sale. All our oil is packaged, labelled and sold in amber glass bottles with tamper evident lids to provide a long lasting and hygienically safe product.
